Day 1 of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation’s 5 day, nation vs nation tournament included an Opening Ceremony. Welcoming speeches were made by IMMAF President Kerrith Brown, BULMMAF President Stanislav Nedkov and Minister of Youth and Sport, Professor Daniela Dasheva. The ceremony also featured a ‘battle’ dance performed by leading national folk troupe ‘Bulgare’, accompanied by bagpipers from the Bulgarian city of Smolyan. Notable victories went to Jonathan Ortega and José Teixeira, both representing debuting teams under the IMMAF banner – Mexico and Luxembourg, respectively.
