The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation’s national team vs national team, Amateur MMA tournament will play out over 5 days from 22 to 26 November at the Arena of Sparta and marks IMMAF’s second European Open event. 181 athletes from 30 nations have signed up to compete. As the competition increases event on event, the new team promises to push three divisions into further uncharted territory, raising the odds for some significant upsets. Frustratingly, due to compliance differences between Estonia’s historic definition of Amateur and the emerging criteria of IMMAF, the EMMAF was previously restricted from submitting a team into IMMAF competitions. As fresh talent has moved up the ranks in Estonia, IMMAF is excited to welcome an Estonian team for the first time and much is expected of its representatives. The team will be keen to make its much anticipated mark in the IMMAF divisions. Led by coach, Vallo Hallus, Team Estonia has registered the following athletes: – Helin Paara – Women’s Lightweight 70.3 kg (155 lbs) – Kaupo Kokamägi – Men’s Lightweight 70.3 kg (155 lbs) – Jaak Rudov – Men’s Welterweight 77.1 kg (170 lbs) Paara and Rudov train out of 3D Treening in Tallinn, while Kokamägi trains out of Võimla in Tartu.
