Cooperating as a collective, the Balkan nations nominated Albania as host of the regional amateur championships for 2016. The 2015 Balkan Championships took place in Turkey and featured 84 athletes from Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Iran, and Turkey. The collective Balkan Federations will showcase the growth and development of MMA within region as a confirmed 150 athletes make their way to Tirana.
