Federation: FELUCHA Number of competitors: 4 The Federación Española de Luchas Olímpicas y Disciplinas Asociadas (FELUCHA) provides one of the teams set to make its World Championships debut at the #2016IMMAFWorlds. Hailing from a country that excels across sporting competitions that include football, tennis and grappling; the Spanish Amateur MMA team will look to validate its proud sporting heritage in the field of MMA. The Spanish football team has claimed a World Cup and two European trophies in the space of four years and similar success could potentially be on the horizon for the Spanish MMA team. Despite only being affiliated to IMMAF since March 2016, FELUCHA has existed since 1932, initially governing Olympic wrestling and Sambo. In response to the later meteoric rise martial arts worldwide, FELUCHA formally recognized both submission grappling (2008) and Amateur MMA (2011). The national team travelling to the UFC Fan Expo® to compete at the 2016 IMMAF World Championships, was selected back in March at the Spanish Championship of Amateur MMA in Gijon. Of the 63 athletes who tried out, a victorious 4 have traveled to Las Vegas to represent Spanish style MMA. The Spanish squad is led by Head Coaches, Israel Adrados and Pablo Ortin Rodríguez.
