Picture: Czech Republic team from 2015 European Open Federation: Czech MMA Association Number of competitors: 5 The Czech Republic national team bring five fighters to the 2016 IMMAF World Championships in Las Vegas with experienced fighter Michaela Dostalova leading the line for the Czech MMA Assosciation (CZMMAA). Former IMMAF World and European 125lb Bronze medallist Dostalova will make her third major IMMAF tournament appearance when she travels to Las Vegas in July. Training out of Schejbal Gym Prague, don’t let Dostalova’s 1-2 IMMAF record fool you, with her two tournament losses coming to eventual Gold medallists, Italy’s Micol Di Segni and Sunna Davidsdottir of Iceland. Her highly experienced teammate Tomas Fiala will also represent the CZMMAA in the United States, with his 16 amateur MMA fights making him one of the most certified competitors at the 2016 IMMAF Worlds. Lead by Head Coach Petr “Monster” Knize, the Czech Republic will look to gain valuable experience as the sport continues to grow in their home country. This exponential progress is defined by the fact that the Czech MMA Association will host the second annual IMMAF European Open Championship later this year.
