May 7 with UK based competitors facing representatives of the Norwegian National Amateur Team. Upon the event announcement earlier this year, UKMMAF Secretary Nigel Burgess stated: “In the true spirit of amateur sport these athletes will have no prior knowledge of their opponents. Both teams will put forward fighters, matched up only by weight class, with a neutral individual verifying match ups to ensure that they’re safe for all.” Norwegian athletes representing Team Norway at BCMMA include IMMAF European Open medallists Geir Kare Cemsoylu Nyland (silver, 155lbs) and Jorgen indsetviken (bronze, 170lbs). In addition, BKK Fighters lightweight Joe Harding is also expected to compete on the card. Harding was recently revealed as a new addition to the UKMMAF National Amateur Team – click HERE for more details. As a BCMMA regular Harding was last in action on February 20 when he defeated Geir Kare Nyland via a unanimous decision after 3×3 minute rounds. UFC veteran and UKMMAF Team coach John Maguire will also compete in a professional welterweight bout against Frenchman Vincent Del Guerra.
