Iurie Bejenari will make his highly anticipated professional debut on UK soil under the banner of Shock N’ Awe on April 16. The Portsmouth based promotion today revealed that the highly impressive Frenchman will jump in at the deep end to take on SnA standout and Judo Commonwealth gold medallist Brett Caswell (8-1) for the 125lb title. Bejenari transitions with a 5-1 amateur record, bringing heavily rounded and well developed abilities with roots as a wrestler. Having started out with two victories under Pancrase rules in France during 2014, the 33-year-old was dealt an early exit from the 2014 IMMAF World Championships of Amateur MMA in Las Vegas when a TKO doctor stoppage due to a cut put end to his strong start in the opening round. Bejenari returned to Las Vegas and last competed at the 2015 IMMAF World Championships of Amateur MMA where he took the flyweight gold medal after a trio of dominant performances in the space of four days. Bejenari became the world’s number one ranked flyweight as his triumph culminated with a final round TKO stoppage over Sweden’s Serdar Altas at the UFC Fan Expo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ge98eeHRubQ Shock N’ Awe returns to Portsmouth’s Mountbatten Centre on April 16.
