On Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November 2015, a training and development seminar for mixed martial arts was held in the Cameroonian region of Ebolowa, at the Gymnasium Razel. 34 athletes participated including a female athlete. There is growing female interest in participation in MMA in Cameroon and IMMAF’s national affiliate, the National Multi-Sports Fighting Martial Arts Association (NFSMMA), will hold its first female MMA matches on 15 November 2015 at the Cup of Cameroon MMA championship event. The agenda for the seminar event hosted by the NFSMMA included the following topics:
- Accountability and recognition of the framework of AMMAPS South club
- Physical preparation and warm up of amateur athletes
- Basic demonstration of various MMA techniques
- Practice and improvement of the techniques
- Registration to the NFSMMA of club athletes from AMMAP
- the establishment of a national register of practitioners under NFSMMA to which all athletes identified must pay annual license fees.
- the National Cup of Cameroon MMA event
- recognition of NFSMMA’s administrative work to popularize the practice of MMA in Cameroon
