Daniela Kortmann became the first German fighter to sign with leading Women’s MMA promotion Invicta last November. Now, the Berlin native will finally make the first appearance of her six-fight deal as an IMMAF alumni who has made the transition to a top professional organization. With a strong background as a Judo black belt, Kortmann claimed strawweight gold at the inaugural IMMAF World Championships of Amateur MMA in 2014, taking the title with a first round arm-bar submission at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, USA. At Invicta Fighting Championships 14 Kortmann, 27, takes on 23-year-old American J.J. Aldrich, another amateur veteran with over ten fights, but now with a 1-1 professional record with two previous Invicta appearances. Kortmann stated: “I am very proud to be the first fighter from Germany fighting for Invicta. I am also looking forward to the challenge.” Kortmann vs. Aldrich features on the undercard of InvictaFC14: Evinger vs Kianzad at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas and can be viewed on UFC Fight Pass.
