International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) takes a look back at some of the best sportsmanship and good morals displayed across the various platforms of Mixed Martial Arts. On August 28, 2005, Fedor Emelianenko and Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipović took part in one of the biggest and most eagerly anticipated fights in MMA history when they met at Pride Final Conflict 2005, in front of 35,000 fans at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan. Croatian sensation ‘Cro Cop’ kicked through the doors of Pride Fighting Championships as a K1 striking veteran and earned a devastating reputation with his left high kicks. Representing Russia, Fedor was maintaining his iconic run that stood at 19 consecutive victories at the time. In 2005 it was the biggest fight in MMA history and ‘The Last Emperor’ successfully defended the Pride Heavyweight Championship via a unanimous decision victory. As the final bell rang to end the contest, Fedor reached out, helping his opponent to his feet and the mutual respect and admiration was show by both fighters as the decision was announced. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQgnD7yxJeQ [/spb_text_block]]]>
