The first IMMAF Amateur World Championships of MMA have delivered an exciting three days, with athletes representing 22 different countries from across the globe. Competing National Federation teams include; Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lebanon, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Sweden, Ukraine, United Kingdom and the United States. The tournament continues tomorrow with the semi finals which promise to deliver some explosive matches. After months of preparation the IMMAF is proud to finally see this historic event come to fruition in Nevada, the heart of the MMA world, sanctioned by UMMAF. The first 4 days take place in Cox Pavilion at the University of Nevada, the venue of very the first TUF finals; while the tournament final takes place inside the UFC Fan Expo at Mandalay Bay this coming Saturday. The Championships are presented in collaboration with leading U.S. Amateur promoter, Tuff-N-Uff, with the UFC and Century Martial Arts as sponsors. The film crew on site comes from the UK production company Giant TV. There’s a phenomenal atmosphere out here, the competition standard is impressive and the passion of the athletes and staff highly contagious. The heat is something else!
