Malaysian Invasion MMA – MIMMA 3 Amateur Tryouts

The Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts completed its regional tryouts for MIMMA 3 on the 18 and 19th April, cementing its reputation as the biggest amateur mixed martial arts fighting championship in Asia, if not the world. The event hosted a total of 60 matches in the MIMMA cage and attracted around 300 competitors. The phenomenon that is the Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts Fighting Championship is the brainchild of Tune Talk CEO Jason Lo with the Minister of Youth & Sports, Yang Berhormat Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin. The objective has been the development of the MMA scene in Malaysia “by focusing on the grassroots level in order to create a stronger base for the sport locally with the hope of one day producing a world champion.” MIMMA has played an instrumental hand in the establishment of IMMAF affiliated national governing body, Malaysian Mixed Martial Arts Association (MASMMAA), which sanctions all of its events and is working to implement IMMAF rules and standards across amateur MMA in Malaysia. Invading 5 major cities in the space of the last 2 months, Malaysian Invasion has opened its cage doors and opportunities to raw, upcoming talent from across the country, in Johor, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, and Selangor. The most eligible candidates have earned the chance to challenge existing  MIMMA champions for their belts in the Grand Finale, with over RM150000 in cash prizes to be won. With a track record of 500,000 online viewers for Season 2, all episodes of MIMMA 3 are aired on RTM TV1 in Malaysia as well as online. MIMMA has stepped it up a further level in Season 3 with the introduction 2 new categories to “further expand the immensity of the invasion”. Due to competitor demand, a female category has been added as well as a “Foreign Pride” division for amateur foreigners.
