The IMMAF World Amateur MMA Rankings are determined by the points accrued by athletes and National Teams through participation in IMMAF Continental Open and World Championships. Full ranking points will be issued if there are twenty (20) or more national teams competing at an event. Where there are less than twenty (20) nations competing, then only 50% of the full ranking points will be issued, as shown in the table below.
|Position||Under 20 Countries||Over 20 Countries|
|1 fight won||16||32|
The points for each individual competition will expire as follows:
- In the first 12 months, the points retain their full value of 100%
- After 12 months, the value of the points will be reduced by 50%.
- After 24 months, the points will be reduced to 0.
- Athletes that change weight categories will start from zero (0) points. Points and seeding positions gained in a previous weight category are not transferable.
The cut-off date for the reduction of points after 12 months, will be the start of the week following that in which the tournament was held one year previously. For example, if the World Championships takes place in week 47 of 2019, points earned at the event will be reduced by 50% by week 48 of 2020.
