Densign White Plans Global Programme of World Class Competitions

Densign White has got off to pacey start after taking the helm at IMMAF on 26th November. The new CEO was already out in Dubai when the news of his new role broke. White was in the Emirates with IMMAF President Bertrand Amoussou for the Host Cities 2014 conference, which spanned the 26th – 27th November 2014 at the Ritz Carlton in Jumeirah. The Host Cities conference is a two-day event bringing together past, current and future host cities with heads of leading sporting bodies and other event rights holders. This Summit focuses on the subject of bidding processes for cities and on large scale events designed to leave a positive social and economic legacy. With IMMAF planning ahead for events in 2015 and 2016, the organisation is looking beyond IMMAF International Championships to continental competitions and other regional tournaments and events. IMMAF has already received proposals from a number of member countries to host future continental Amateur MMA competitions. White is next set to travel to Las Vegas at the end of this week with Amoussou and board member, George Sallfeldt, to lay foundations for the 2015 IMMAF World Championships of Amateur MMA scheduled for next July. Through implementing a new global programme of world class competitions and brokering affiliated sports rights deals, White looks to establish a solid financial base for the independent growth of IMMAF. White said: “We at IMMAF want to provide a better service to our members and we want to create world class competitions and improve governance. To this end I want to create continental structures. IMMAF will also raise its game in terms of education for coaches and officials; and we will be working to expand our membership. We first need to create an executive staff that will drive the sport forward because at the moment that doesn’t exist. IMMAF is a new organisation, coming up to three years old, so it’s understandable where it is; but we need to move it to another level now.”   Densign White & Bertrand Amoussou
