AIMMAA Maps Out National Calender for Remainder of 2017

The All India Mixed Martial Arts Association (AIMMAA) has mapped out the remained of its 2017 calendar for both domestic events regulation and national team participation under the IMMAF banner. Under the AIMMAA India has established one of the world’s most actively governed amateur MMA scenes, sustained throughout India’s states by regional branches and AIMMAA representatives. The government recognised body oversees a list of the nations most momentous gatherings of national competition. The busy months ahead will see 3 of the nation’s major grass roots contests, first being the Rajasthan State Sport MMA Championship beginning on July 14. That same month, beginning July 29 at the opposite end of the nation will be the All India MMA Open Championship in the state of Assam. India’s national amateur team is expected to be decided in World Championship Team Trials during August at the popular Bangalore Open, ahead of the 2017 IMMAF World Championships in Bahrain, November 12-19. Athletes representing team India will also be action at the 2017 IMMAF Africa Open in South Africa, August 29 – September 2. Currently closing the domestic calendar in October is the AIMMAA National Championships, the biggest amateur MMA contest in all of India. Last year’s National Championships in Bangalore (pictured above) saw over 200 participants from 26 states and union territories, a momentous step for the unification of Indian MMA, including the debut of four additional states indicating the continuous growth of MMA in India.
